“Are you my reflection?!” 2 special dogs meet by chance in a supermarket!
Emily Stern went shopping at a store near her home in Charleston, South Carolina. As usual, she took her beloved pet with her – a cute spaniel named Flirt, who was missing one eye.
The dog sat in the grocery cart, studying the bright labels on the cans. And suddenly her mistress saw exactly the same cart, with the same spaniel! She almost confused her purchases with strangers …
And when she put the dogs next to her, she laughed out loud: it looked like Flirt saw her mirror image!
“It was so exciting and I was just shocked!” says a 19-year-old girl.
Allie Smith Franz, 28-year-old owner of Vinnie the spaniel, was as struck by the resemblance of their pets as Emily. It’s amazing how big and small the world is at the same time. What is the probability of meeting a copy of your pet, and even a “special” one, without an eye?
Stern hurried to share her reasoning on this subject on her Reddit page, adding an amazing photo. It caused a strong reaction among users, and it was reposted more than 37 thousand times!
“It’s like meeting with a celebrity, after which you want to tell absolutely everyone about it, ” said Stern.
Despite the fact that quite a lot of time has passed since the first meeting of the girls, they continue to communicate with pleasure. 9-year-old Flirt and 15-year-old Vinnie also became true friends.
Little Flirt Emily adopted about 3 years ago after she had an accident. The baby raced to the room where the puppies were playing to join them. But the door closed too abruptly, and she was in the opening just at the moment when it happened …
“The headbutt hurt her eye too much”, says Stern bitterly.
But Vinnie was from Tennessee and lost his eye as a result of an infection. On July 4, 2013, Franz received a dog as a wedding present from her husband, Robert. Instead of diamond earrings or any other gift, she asked King Charles to give her a spaniel from a shelter.
It turned out that two dogs live 10 minutes apart, and now they often see each other. This year they appeared together at the Christmas parade, and they also belong to the same Charleston club of their breed.
“Whenever I see stories about rescued dogs, it really touches me, Stern says. — Flirt was a very outgoing, flirtatious dog before she lost her eye. However, by and large, it remains so now … “
