Why can’t a dog be fed table food?

Balance

The results of numerous scientific studies confirm that homemade food is so different from the food that a dog needs that it threatens its health and can cause early death.

So, in food from the table there is little calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, copper. But the dog needs these elements in a volume, respectively, 2, 2,5, 3, 3,5, 4,5 times more than a person needs.

At the same time, home-cooked meals are rich in fat. And its abundance often entails the appearance of excess weight in the pet, and then obesity. Against the background of the latter, such dangerous diseases as arthritis, osteoarticular pathologies, and pancreatitis can develop.

Security

The dog’s digestive system is quite sensitive; even the smallest amount of components harmful to the animal can unbalance it. The latter include chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes and raisins. Also, an adult dog is contraindicated in milk and an increased amount of salt. And this list is not exhaustive.

The consumption of raw meat, bones, eggs threatens the penetration of pathogenic bacteria into the body of the animal. In addition, meat may contain antibiotics, while vegetables may contain nitrates.

In the end, the pet may simply be poisoned by expired food.

Соответствие

Puppies, adults and senior dogs need food that is appropriate for the appropriate period of the animal’s life. In the same way, pets of different sizes – small, medium, large – should eat food that provides them with everything they need according to body weight.

Food is also produced for certain breeds – poodles, Labradors, Chihuahuas and others, for pregnant and lactating dogs, animals with sensitive digestion, etc.

Today, there is a significant amount of pet food on the market, allowing you to choose the right diet for your pet.
