අක්ෂර

The Karst Shepherd is an ancient breed of dog. It is believed that her ancestors accompanied the Illyrians, a people who inhabited the territory of the Balkan Peninsula millennia ago.

The first mention of dogs similar to the Crash Sheepdog dates back to the 17th century. However, then the breed was called differently – the Illyrian Shepherd Dog. For a long time, by the way, the Sharplanin Shepherd Dog was also attributed to the same type.

The official separation of the breeds took place only in 1968. The Crash Shepherd Dog got its name from the Karst plateau in Slovenia.

හැසිරීම

The Crash Sheepdog is a worthy representative of the herding dog family. Strong, courageous, hard-working – this is how owners most often characterize their pets. By the way, even today these executive and responsible dogs graze livestock and help people.

Stern and serious at first glance, these shepherd dogs are quite friendly and playful. However, they do not trust strangers, and the dog is unlikely to make contact first. Moreover, she will not let an uninvited guest close to the house. First, the shepherd dog will give a warning signal, and if the person does not stop, he will act.

Raising a Karst Shepherd is not easy. With this dog, it is necessary to go through a general training course and protective guard duty. Of course, it is better to entrust the upbringing of a pet to a professional dog handler.

The socialization of the Karst Shepherd should take place early, starting at two months. It is especially important to conduct it for those pets who live outside the city, in the limited space of a private house. Otherwise, the “cottage dog syndrome”, which is afraid of everything unfamiliar and therefore reacts inadequately to manifestations of the outside world, cannot be avoided.

The Crash Sheepdog gets along well with animals in the house if it grew up with them. In other cases, much depends on the nature of a particular individual.

The dog is affectionate with children, but it is not recommended to leave it alone with the kids. Best of all, the shepherd gets along with teenagers and schoolchildren.

Karst Shepherd Care

The long coat of the Karst Shepherd should be brushed every week to prevent tangles. During the molting period, the procedure is carried out two or more times a week.

But bathe animals rarely, as needed. Usually no more than once every three months.

රැඳවුම් කොන්දේසි

Crash Sheepdogs are moderately active. It is difficult to call them indoor dogs, but they feel quite comfortable living in the yard of a private house. In this case, it is worth taking the dog to the forest or to the park at least once a week.

It is impossible to keep Karst Shepherds on a chain – they are freedom-loving animals. But you can equip your pet with an aviary . Every day, the dog must be released into the yard so that it can warm up and throw out its energy.
