The Flanders Bouvier, as you might guess, comes from Flanders, a territory that today is part of Belgium. These dogs have been known since ancient times, but until the beginning of the 20th century, the breed developed haphazardly.
Animals helped shepherds: they drove cattle, protected from thieves and predators, and also served on farms. To this day, thanks to its working qualities, the Bouvier of Flanders is still popular among farmers and often even serves in the police.
By the way, the name of the breed speaks for itself: translated from French, bouvier des Flandres literally means “cow shepherd from Flanders.”
A kind, calm and very attentive Bouvier of Flanders will conquer anyone: he has a wonderful docile character and charming appearance. True, to an inexperienced breeder it may seem that a large plush dog is a little slow, even slow. This is not entirely true. Yes, representatives of the breed are not very energetic at home, and they spend most of the time in their place. But these dogs are always on the alert, they constantly monitor what is happening and react with lightning speed to a dangerous situation. Of course, all this is subject to proper upbringing.
It is necessary to deal with the Bouvier of Flanders . It cannot be said that he grasps everything on the fly – he will have to train teams for a long time , and the owner must be patient. But, as soon as Bouvier understands what they want from him, do not hesitate: he will become your most faithful friend.
Interestingly, the Flanders Bouvier puppies, unlike adult dogs, are constantly on the move: they fuss, rush, run, knocking down all the obstacles in their path. A funny and clumsy pet easily puts his own “order” in the house. But in no case should you scold a dog – this can have a bad effect on its psyche. In general, Bouvier does not accept raised tones. Caress and love are the main tools in communicating with him.
The Flanders Bouvier is calm in the neighborhood with other animals, although sometimes it can show character. Particularly active representatives of the breed will try to dominate.
With children, the dog behaves very gently and carefully. She will gladly walk with the child, protecting and protecting him.
Bouvier des Flandres Care
The Flanders Bouvier’s coat is hard and thick and needs to be sheared every three months. Representatives of the breed shed lightly, so there will be no problem of hair loss during the molting period. However, you can’t do without combing at all: a couple of times a week it is recommended to carry out this procedure with a massage brush.
حراست وٺڻ جا شرط
The Flanders Bouvier is not very active, it does not require many hours of walking. Despite this, a large dog can hardly get along in a city apartment. The most comfortable pet will be outside the city, where he can freely walk in the yard. These dogs are not recommended to be put on a chain or in an aviary.
