RKF documents for a dog – what is it?

RKF documents for a dog – what is it?

This practice is accepted by dog breeders, breeders, owners all over the world. The presence of certain forms confirms the reliability of the breed, the absence of pathologies in the animal and allows you to take the pet out of the country. Of course, it will not be possible to issue documents for a dog in one visit to the kennel club. For this, certain conditions must be met. And then the owner of the dog will be given all the necessary forms.

What documents can be issued in the RKF?

When getting a dog, the owner should think in advance about the prospects for participation in exhibitions, about plans for breeding development and maintaining the purity of the breed. All this is possible only if there are documents that determine the thoroughbredness of the pet, its pedigree, belonging to a particular breed. It is natural that such important information should be recorded and issued only by an organization competent in matters of dog breeding. This is the Russian Cynological Federation – RKF.

Here you can get a full consultation on many issues, including what documents should be on the dog. Moreover, not all forms are issued in this organization – some will have to be issued in other institutions. But some of them, relating specifically to the characteristics of the breed, purebred origin and pedigree, are issued in the document processing department of the RKF. So, what kind of RKF documents for a dog can be issued in this organization? Here is their list:

  • a pedigree is a form confirming the purity of the breed, the compliance of the animal with its standards. A pedigree is an official extract from the All-Russian Unified Pedigree Book, the records in which are also maintained by specialists from the cynological federation;
  • working certificates are RKF documents confirming that a dog has qualities that correspond to its breed;
  • breeding certificates – documents of the RKF, indicating that the animal fully complies with the breed standards and can be used to reproduce the offspring of this breed;
  • diplomas of a participant in national exhibitions are documents of the RKF for a dog that took part in exhibition events within the state;
  • diplomas of international champions – such RKF documents are issued for dogs participating in international events on the territory of the country or abroad;
  • certificates of passing kyorung – breeding selection, the requirements of which are established for representatives of the German Shepherd and Rottweiler breeds.

In addition, the federation issues other documents for the dog, confirming the conformity of the exterior and the absence of medical anomalies. Such documents of the RKF are an international certificate of the absence of dysplasia based on the results of testing the elbow and hip joints, as well as a Patella certificate on the results of the assessment of the elbow joints.

Let’s take a closer look at how to properly register a dog.

Patella

This form is issued subject to two conditions. Firstly, the dog must be registered in the All-Russian Unified Pedigree Book. Secondly, the documents of the RKF for a dog about the absence of pathologies of the elbow joints are issued only after a detailed examination by a veterinarian. Moreover, such a specialist must have an FCI license and the right to evaluate.

This document is issued to representatives of giant breeds, provided they reach the age of eighteen months, and to dogs of small, large and medium breeds – upon reaching one year of age. In the RKF, documents on the absence of Patella’s pathology are issued within 15 working days from the date of the clinical examination.

Dysplasia Free Certificate

This form is provided to owners of dogs that have been tested for anatomical and physiological conformity of the elbow and hip joints. RKF documents on the absence of dysplasia are issued only for individuals registered in the federation, exclusively by licensed veterinarians.

Certificate of results of kyorung

To obtain this document, the dog must undergo a special selection based on the identification of working qualities, breeding qualities, behavioral factors, anatomical features of the breed.

Such a form is usually issued for German Shepherd and Rottweiler breeding dogs after they have passed the breeding selection. All events are carried out by specialists of the cynological federation or Russian cynological organizations according to the schedule approved by them. Dogs over the age of 18 months are eligible for selection.

Diplomas

Diplomas testify to the participation of the animal in exhibition events under certain programs for hunting, service, guard and other types of breeds. For each of them, a separate assessment is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the program and exhibition classes.

Based on such documents, champion titles can subsequently be awarded, certificates of achievements and victories in exhibitions can be issued.

You can make such documents for a dog only if the owner has already managed to get a pedigree for a dog in the RKF, and the pet itself has successfully passed all the competitive stages.

Diplomas are issued of national and international standard. In the first case, this is a certificate of participation in exhibitions on the territory of the Russian Federation, in the second case, it is a confirmation of participation in international exhibition events.

Tribal certificates

Such a document is issued to dogs with a purebred pedigree, with confirmation in the form of certificates of the absence of dysplasia and other anomalies of the joints, and without fail – after passing a breeding examination. Applicants older than 9 months of age and corresponding to all signs of the breed are subject to such a procedure. To issue a breeding certificate, RKF specialists need to check the dog’s pedigree, make sure that all documents are available, conformity of the exterior and working qualities to the breed standards.

To do this, you need to get positive marks at certificate shows and during a breeding inspection.

Working certificates

Such forms are issued after the dog has passed the evaluation activities. They reflect the conformity of the qualities of an individual with the requirements of the breed and hunting or service characteristics. To do this, a test is carried out in specific disciplines within the framework of qualification requirements.

In the Russian Cynological Federation, working certificates of national and international standard are issued, with a temporary validity period or permanent ones.

Pedigree

In order to issue a pedigree for a dog, it is necessary to contact the Russian Cynological Federation, since such documentation is not issued in kennel clubs and dog breeders’ associations. By the way, here you can also check the dog’s pedigree based on entries in the VERK – the All-Russian Unified Genealogical Book.

This document confirms that the animal fully complies with the breed standard, has pure roots of origin without blood impurities, that is, it is a purebred offspring of its ancestors through the mother and father.

How to make and get a pedigree for a dog in the RKF?

To apply for a dog pedigree, you must meet several conditions and requirements:

  • the pet must be at least 6 months old;
  • it must not be older than 15 months;
  • the owner, together with the animal, must be members of one of the kennel clubs, or the puppy must be taken from an official kennel. At the same time, clubs, federations and kennels must necessarily be members of the RKF;
  • from the first weeks of life, you need to make documents for the dog – puppy metrics and a veterinary passport;
  • if the dog is an adult and has already participated in exhibitions, has certain differences, then it must have certificates of awarding the title, which are entered into the pedigree.

Upon reaching six months, the puppy’s metric can be exchanged at the cynological center, federation, kennel club and get a pedigree for a dog in the RKF. This can be done directly in the Russian Cynological Federation itself or in clubs and centers that are its members.

The issuance of the document is carried out after payment for the services of the RKF, upon presentation of the receipt. At the same time, the metric is surrendered, and the tear-off coupon from it remains with the owner of the dog.

Two pedigree options

Before registering a dog and obtaining the necessary documents for it, you will have to choose one of the options for obtaining a pedigree:

  1. Certificate of origin of a single sample – such a form is issued in English and in Russian. Holders of such a document have the right to participate in international exhibitions and national exhibitions. This certificate confirms the right to use the dog in breeding. And in the presence of such a standard, all exhibition titles can be assigned to a pedigree dog and certificates of national and international format can be issued. In such a pedigree, absolutely all information about the animal is indicated – nickname, date of birth, gender, suit, owner data, titles, stigma number and letter code, numbers of pedigree ancestors, test results.

  2. Certificate of registration of the dog in the All-Russian Unified Pedigree Book. With such a pedigree for a dog with an RKF passport, prospects are open only on a national scale: participation in domestic exhibitions, obtaining national titles and certificates. Such individuals do not participate in breeding activities, and their offspring cannot be recorded in the records of the WERC.

To make a dog’s pedigree according to one of the two available options, you must contact the leadership of the local kennel center, the kennel federation or the kennel club, which are members of the Russian kennel federation. The owner submits a written application, which is immediately accepted for consideration. You can find out about the belonging of a cynological organization to such membership from a single register on the RKF website.

Another document must be attached to the application – the puppy’s metric. In the case of a request for a pedigree for a puppy purchased from one of the breeders in the RKF system, a veterinary passport received from the kennel along with a metric will also be required.

Puppy metric (“puppy”)

To obtain a pedigree, it is necessary to present the so-called “puppy” – this is how cynologists and dog owners call the puppy’s metric. This form is a kind of equivalent of a birth certificate for people. It is issued when the puppy reaches the age of 45 days and only after examination and evaluation by a cynologist.

Puppy metrics (kazvet.ru)

This document indicates key information about the puppy:

  • breed;
  • alias;
  • Date of Birth;
  • information about the breeder;
  • data on the origin – about both parents and place of birth;
  • floor;
  • color.

Such a document is drawn up by the breeder himself, and all the hassle and expenses associated with this procedure fall solely on the shoulders of the cattery. Such a “puppy” for a dog is provided when it will be necessary to make a pedigree for a dog in a kennel club.

The metric is filled in Russian and English.

Veterinary passport

One of the documents required for membership in cynological centers, obtaining a pedigree, participating in exhibitions and in breeding activities is a veterinary passport. It is issued to dogs of all breeds and ages in veterinary clinics.

A veterinary passport can be purchased with any cover, it is not regulated in any way. We found this option on ozon.ru.

This document contains information about the owner of the animal and about the pet itself:

  • type of animal (dog);
  • suit and color features;
  • age and date of birth;
  • exact wording of the breed;
  • chipping data – code, date.

On the spread of the veterinary passport, the sanitary and preventive treatments carried out are indicated. These are deworming against internal and external parasites (worms, lice, fleas, ticks), as well as vaccinations against viral and bacterial diseases. Vaccinations against rabies, canine distemper, hepatitis of a viral nature, infectious enteritis with various types of pathogens are usually indicated. The fact of vaccination is evidenced by labels pasted into the veterinary passport from vials of vaccines, with a serial number, the name of the biofactory, the name of the drug, the date of manufacture and the expiration date.

All this information is certified by the seal of the veterinarian, his signature and the stamp of the veterinary clinic.

What documents should a puppy have?

Before receiving a pedigree or other forms in the RKF, you need to once again figure out what documents the puppy should have and whether all of them are properly executed.

Under the age of 15 months, only three types of documents are issued for a dog:

  • puppy metric;
  • veterinary passport;
  • chipping certificate.

The last document is filled out only when the chip is installed and registered in the animal identification system. With such documentation, the puppy may qualify for the right to participate in exhibitions, receive a pedigree or certificates of the Russian Cynological Federation, and be transported around the country or abroad. And in the future – upon reaching physiological maturity – these documents will partially give the right to participate in breeding work, if a breeding certificate is received.
