The smallest of the French herding dogs, the smooth-faced Pyrenean Sheepdog was officially recognized in the 1920s. However, the exact origin of the breed is unknown. Experts believe that her ancestors are the shepherd dogs of the Pyrenees.
One way or another, representatives of the breed have always been highly valued among peasants and shepherds. And after the Second World War, animals constantly serve as guard dogs and rescuers.
