Päritolu lugu

The history of the appearance of these dogs in Europe is very interesting and even surprising. A native of Czechoslovakia, Jiri Rotter, often visited Africa and, being fascinated by local dogs, brought several individuals to Europe. He came up with a new breed, hitherto unknown to cynological circles and European breeders, an interesting name – haho-avu. It consists of several words, while Haho is the name of the river that flows near the homeland of these unusual exotic animals, and “avu” in the language of the natives simply means “dog”. Accordingly, haho-avu is the dog of the Haho river. From these animals, the European branch of the breed went.

Kirjeldus

Since the breed is completely new and extremely rare for Europe and America, there are no standard recognized by world cynological federations and detailed descriptions of these interesting dogs yet. However, there are enough photos and images of these animals so that you can form your own opinion about their appearance. Representatives of the haho-avu breed are relatively small dogs of a bright red-rusty color. A distinctive feature of these animals are large, widely spaced ears on the sides of the head. Paws and body – taut, muscular. The coat is short and thick. Slightly slanted eyes and nose are dark. The animal looks a bit like a basenji and a mini ridgeback .

Iseloom

Despite the fact that these are, in fact, aboriginal dogs, haho-avu are highly adaptable. Thanks to cleanliness, vigilance and fidelity, as well as a fairly calm character, these animals become good companions for their owners. And the relatively small size makes it possible to avoid the problems associated with keeping large dogs in the city (for example, when transported by public transport). It is also convenient for urban maintenance that they bark very little.

Hahoawu Care

Typical representatives of the haho-avu breed need constant contact with a person. Since the coat of these dogs is short, it does not require complex and expensive grooming. It is enough to periodically comb it out with a stiff brush. However, like any dog living in the city, haho-avu needs to be regularly washed from reagents in winter and city dust and smog in summer. And, of course, as necessary, it is necessary to treat pets ears and claws .

Kinnipidamise tingimused

Haho-avu can live perfectly both in a country house and in an apartment. They get along well with other animals.

hind

Since at present these dogs are extremely rare (in Europe – in particular, in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, there are only a few representatives of the breed), buying a puppy seems to be a very difficult and costly undertaking. However, enthusiasts and lovers of these animals are doing their best both to popularize the haho-avu breed and to increase the number of these, no doubt, interesting and unusual dogs.
