It originates from West Africa (Guinea, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Cameroon), where it grows in the humid environment of swamps, rivers and lakes in the ground or attached to the trunks and branches of fallen plants that are in the water. The plant produces narrow green elliptical leaves up to 30 cm long on thin cuttings reddish brown colors. The edges and surface of the sheets are even. It can grow partially or completely submerged in water. A soft substrate is preferred, it can also be attached to snags, stones. For greater reliability, until the roots have entangled the wood, Anubias Bartera angustifolia is fastened with nylon threads or ordinary fishing line.

Like other Anubias, it is not picky about the conditions of detention and is able to grow successfully in almost any aquarium. Considered a good choice for beginner aquarists.
